Thailand Elephant Camp

I'VE FOUND IT! Experiential Learning International offers volunteer spots at an elephant camp in Thailand. Volunteers help take care of the elephants, and teach English. PERFECT!

The volunteers also pay exorbitant amounts of money. This seems like the majority of the money you'd end up paying would go directly to the program as oppose to the people that actually need it. The program fee is easily multiple times the living monthly wage. There are plenty of programs that allow you to travel without paying tons of money to organizations. Why not try www.wwoof.org?

I hate it when you have to pay to volunteer. It seems like all the cool ones are that way too. You could probably find something similar where it's actual volunteer and you only have to pay for your transport over there. You should try looking at the UN's website. They have a lot of outreach type programs.
